Spring 2025 - I normally don't write Bruin Walk reviews but felt like I should say something about this class as it doesn't have any ratings yet. The class consisted of 3 speeches, each with different prompts. That being said, the prompts were fairly open so you could really talk about whatever interested you. Grading was based on your final revised speech script and the actual presentation itself. I will admit, it was a lot of work and pretty fast-paced. But honestly, this is one of my favorite classes I've taken! Lauri cares deeply about student learning and wants you to do well in the class; and that shows. She's extremely responsive to emails and offers multiple rounds of feedback before you turn in a speech and present it. I feel like I walked out of this class a more confident writer and speaker. I would absolutely suggest taking this class if you get the chance. Public speaking is an indispensable skill and this course does an incredible job at cultivating both skill and confidence in presenting.
