Performance, Media, and Cultural Theory

Description: Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Enforced requisites: courses 10A, 10B, 10C. Recommended: courses 120, 121. Examination of concepts and modes of performance, culture, and/or media, broadly construed. Evaluation of different modes of inquiry around one or more of these concepts, as well as their intersection, in various intellectual traditions, including fields of cultural studies, performance studies, literary analysis, and film theory. May be repeated for credit with topic or instructor change. P/NP or letter grading.
