Spring 2017 - I was so excited to take this class because I LOVE Oscar Wilde. However, it was not what I thought it would be. Although all of the readings were excellent, the lectures were not. The professor spent the entire 2 hours summarizing plot...which really was a waste of time because readings were done outside of the classroom. In addition, he requires you do weekly postings (800 words) which are way too long in my opinion. I would rather engage with the text in class than doing it online. He also really only looks for one specific way of thinking. If you even try and suggest an argument against his, he will put it down immediatley. He was really funny though- great sense of humor and very witty. The class itself wasn't too hard. The midterm was very easy (passage IDs and silly multiple choice)....Overall, the readings were AMAZING, but the class itself? Ehhh
