Description: Seminar, one hour. Discussion of and critical thinking about topics of current intellectual importance, taught by faculty members in their areas of expertise and illuminating many paths of discovery at UCLA. P/NP grading.

His FULL name is Charles Lynn Batten, by the way, so either one should suffice his ability as a professor. Let me just say, it's a freshman fiau lux seminar or whatever the hell they call it and this class was a JOKE! then again...I was a junior transfer, but honestly guys, it doesn't get much easier than this one unit course. If you need to fit an extra unit in, I'd take it. His class was superbly easy and it's only 50 minutes, you can't go wrong with that! Funny guy too, but I think this class does not standardize in anyway a course in college, a fifth grader could take it and still pass. Only two assignments are find something and 10 minute presentation on painting, ANYONE CAN DO THAT?! So...beware, look for the easy A! but I'll probably work with him later on cus I feel this class does, in no way, provide what professor is like as a professor!

I took him for a poetry Fiat Lux easiest grade ever!!!!! Class is two hrs every other week and all you have to do for the whole quarter is write one paper 2 pgs long about any poem in a booklet he gives you. Warning, he is very picky and his humor is all intelligent humor. Sarcasm is huge with him. He talks a lot though and usually goes off subject but you don't really have to pay attention to him. I recommend it if you want an easy grade.
