Spring 2021 - Brett was a literal angel. I was afraid to take writing 2 as a psychobiology major and he made this class incredibly manageable and fun. He allows students to 'in a sense' choose their grade through his unique grading scale. By this, I mean that the number of assignments you successfully complete (he has to 'approve' the assignment and will send it back for revision if he believes it necessary) will determine your grade in the course. I did not complete all hence my grade being an A-, but it was nice to know your grade at all times. His class discussions were also fun as he encouraged participation.

Summer 2023 - Professor Encinas is a really nice and laid-back professor. He cares more about student progress than anything else. For the summer, participation/attendance was 25%, essay 1 was 25%, essay 2 was 25%, and a poem recitation was 25%. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS! He helps you a lot with your writing and formulating ideas during them, especially if you aren't a strong writer.
