Description: Seminar, one hour. Survey of Taylor Swift's later discography, including Folklore and Evermore albums, All Too Well short film, and Eras tour film. Students conceptualize music as a literary artifact and apply principles of literary analysis to songs in Taylor's Folklore and Evermore albums. Study of visual design and visual storytelling, while combining literary and visual elements to analyze Taylor's growth and development as a singer, songwriter, and director. Lecture material and introductory information is provided followed by student input and large-scale discussion. No prior knowledge of Taylor Swift necessary. P/NP grading. Facilitated by Mishal Syed, with Christopher M. Mott as faculty mentor.
