Description: Lecture, four hours. Preparation: one year of calculus, one course each in physics, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry. Designed for science, engineering, and public health students. Role of regional or long-range transport, and atmospheric lifetimes and fates of airborne chemicals in phenomena such as photochemical smog, acid deposition, stratospheric ozone depletion, accumulation of greenhouse gases, and regional and global distribution of volatile toxic compounds. Concurrently scheduled with course C225. P/NP or letter grading.
