Winter 2024 - This class was great! I'm not sure if Kevin will be teaching it again in the future, but I would really recommend taking it under him! Homework (15%)- Around 6 hw assignments, the first one is definitely one of the more challenging ones, so go to office hours for help! Mine rocked! Professionalism (5%)- free points basically, arrive on time to the field trips and you're guaranteed these points Labs (30%)- These are little challenging, but don't sweat it, it definitely helps if you brush up on using a petrographic microscope, but you can definitely learn as you go on. Ask your TA for help if you need it and you'll be set really Midterm (30%)- The midterm was a bit challenging, a combination of true or false and free response questions that basically cover the learning goals of each of the lectures. I recommend going over these goals one by one and making sure you have a good grasp of what they are asking. The questions will vary between explaining certain processes conceptually, defining terms, and explaining the differences between certain concepts. Final (20%)- Pretty much the same format as the midterm, but definitely longer
