Isotope Geochemistry

Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Designed for junior/senior and graduate physical and biological sciences students. Theoretical aspects of isotope behavior: stable and radiogenic isotopes. Principles of geochronology. Use of isotopes as tracers in crust and mantle processes. Stable isotopes as indicators of environment and paleoclimate. Concurrently scheduled with course C209. P/NP or letter grading.
