Special Topics in Women and the Arts

Description: Lecture, three hours. Requisite: course 10. Selected topics relating feminist theories to creation of art by women, with consideration of cultural contexts in which they work. Approach to be comparative, cross-cultural, and interdisciplinary. Consideration of artistic practice by women in relation to issues of power, representation, and access. May be repeated twice, except for credit toward Gender Studies major. P/NP or letter grading.
