Description: (Same as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Studies M147A and Psychology M147A.) Lecture, two hours; discussion, one hour. Requisite: course 10 or M114 or Psychology 10. Designed for juniors/seniors. Review of research and theory in psychology and gender studies to examine various aspects of lesbian experience, impact of heterosexism/stigma, gender role socialization, minority status of women and lesbians, identity development within a multicultural society, changes in psychological theories about lesbians in sociohistorical context. P/NP or letter grading.
