U.S. and Comparative Immigration History
Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Designed for juniors/seniors. Use of overlapping diaspora model that integrates North Atlantic (Europe), South Atlantic (Afro-Caribbean), Pacific (China/Japan/Hawaii), and Latin (Mexico to Brazil) worlds to provide chronological and analytic survey of American and comparative immigration from 1750 to present. Special focus on Southern California. P/NP or letter grading.
