LISTEN TO ME!!!!! i took professor Morony after taking a look at his syllabus- bad decision. He is completely unfair when grading the papers (me and my friend had the same exact info in our papers and got two completely different grades). Furthermore, he sucks in office hours. he wont budge with regrading papers or helping you out with clarifications. his lectures are too boring and there is honestly no point of going. the final screws everyone over and honestly i think he gets a kick out of it. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS UNLESS FOR SOME REASON YOU ARE AN ISLAM HISTORY FANATIC AND KNOW EVERYTHING. he expects you to be a islamic historian basically and doesnt seem to understand that were just students and arent professionals on the topic. HE ESPECIALLY DOESNT UNDERSTAND what the point of office hours is.... he literally gives you a blank stare and personally i think just lowers your grade for using his time. MY ADVICE: find another class!!!!!!

GE Clust 66: I took the Touring LA Seminar with Reiff. She is an extremely kind woman, and though I'm pretty sure the freshman LA Cluster isn't going to be offered for the 09/10 school year, it is a great class to take, so if it does come back I recommend it. Reiff is really concerned about her students, and her class was really easy. I got an A. Based on participation and one project (a tour about some factor of LA). I really enjoyed Reiff's class and appreciate how easy it was. Reiff really wants people to come to office hours, but honestly as the class is so easy there's not much reason to go. I went once to visit with her because she is so likeable. I am pretty sure that she gives pretty much everyone who shows even a tiny amount of effort an A. If you get to take Reiff, I recommend her. Easy stuff.

History 20. Wow! I honestly feel stupider (see, not even a word) for having taken this class. Ruiz is a genuine nice guy, but the whole class is crap. Its a bad class to begin with because you are crunching down millions of years of history into 18 classes. I learned nothing, I did nothing other than drag myself to class to hear his accented voice that got very annoying over the quarter, and got an A. If you want the easy A like I did, take Ruiz, although be prepared to be mentally exhausted when done.
