Description: Seminar, three hours. Requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. Freshmen/sophomores preferred. Study of environmental histories of modern South Asia with focus on 19th and 20th centuries. Examination of entanglements between environmental issues and social issues of class, race, caste, and gender. Key concepts such as colonialism and environmental justice. Letter grading.
