Description: Seminar, four hours. Designed for College Honors students. How do films reflect on, and even constitute, historical events? Examination of relationship between film and history and some ways in which film has functioned as history. Tracing questions of film and history from silent era to postfilm digital present, exposure to major issues in scholarly body of work in film and media studies while also learning about ways that films can engage with history. P/NP or letter grading.
