Fall 2019 - Professor Kerr is an amazing professor! She cares so much about the content and her students. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a ton of personal experience based on her time spent in the Middle East. This fiat lux is relatively light on work but very interesting. The workload consisted of one or two weekly readings and a one to two-paged response paper. Class discussions were interesting and engaging, and we also had a few guest speakers. This was a great class to delve into some of the geopolitical and cultural conflicts in the Middle East, without needing a ton of background knowledge. This is the second fiat lux I have taken with Professor Kerr and I would highly recommend her.
