Labor Studies: Research in Action

Description: Seminar, three hours; fieldwork, five hours. Requisite: course 191A. Second part of Labor Studies capstone senior research project series with focus on research methods in action. Through lectures, key readings, in-class exercises, and field work, students develop understanding capstone research project including refined research question(s), advanced literature review, research design and plan, data collection and analysis, and final paper outline. Continued development of applied qualitative and quantitative research skills with focus on workers, labor and immigrant rights movements, policy initiatives, and/or political action in Los Angeles as research lens. P/NP or letter grading.
