Spring 2016 - This class is okay. It is mainly an introduction of basic biology. I would suggest students who have doubts about the bio major to take this class first and re-consider, as it is also a GE. Prof. Kane is funny and engaged, though she basically reads from the slides. So overall there is no need to take much notes in the class as you can find mostly everything she said on the slides, which she posts before class. The hw on launchpad is relatively easy, the lab works are harder but the TAs are really helpful. Go to the OH! The class materials are all on the launchpad, which includes an access code and an ebook. Selling BRANDNEW class materials for LS1. Text me if interested at **********

Winter 2017 - This review is for LS 7B, which has the same content as LS 2. Dr. Phelan's class is hard. I highly recommend taking another professor's class, simply because his exam are harder than other LS professors. He is an excellent lecturer and understands what he is talking about, but his exams are on a how other level. As for how to get an A, do the following: --make sure you do EVERYTHING in launchpad to the best of your abilities; you want to get 50/50 for all 3 caterogries of launchpad --get full credit for your lab assigments, which will come out to a huge portion of your grade --make sure you get your clicker points in --at all review sessions, record what he is saying so you can copy it down again and look up the answers. This will be a huge help, especially on the final --do the objectives on all the pre-class worksheets This class is doable, but I would highly recommend you go for another professor.

Selling the Biological Sciences book that Pires requires for her LS1 class! In good condition too! ONLY $25!!!! It's an edition earlier than the latest, but that doesn't affect anything. She doesn't have you do any practice problems and it's purely for the reading, which is the SAME EXACT WORDING except the chapter numbers are ahead by one. (I compared the current edition and my own side by side at Powell). Text me at ********** ASAP!

I took Psych 115, not LS1 (they didn't have 115 as an option in the scroll down menu) This is not the easiest class, but the material is fascinating. You can do well if you take his advice: skim the lecture notes/book beforehand, go to every lecture, review the book in more detail after. It's EXTREMELY DOABLE as long as you don't get behind! I got a B in this class as opposed to an A because I didn't take his study advice! He's a great professor, and the only one I've known so far who tried to learn the names of the people who sat in the front. The people who complain about not doing well in this class likely did not study hard enough. Like I said, it's not the easiest class, but a little hard work and you'll do well!
