Spring 2025 - Taking 115a with Opie was honestly a really great experience, especially as my first real proof-based class at UCLA! She was consistently helpful and a very engaging and clear lecturer and she would always be quick to answer any questions in Piazza. I was kinda intimidated at first because of all the notation, but Opie really guides you through everything, even the smallest things used in proofs. Although the homework was long, finishing it felt extremely rewarding and she does drop 2 out of 9 HWs (with an extra 10th HW as EC). The tests were very fair and because she gives so many practice exams and resources, they didn't feel too bad. Opie overall was a really great introduction to proof writing and made me excited to pursue the other proof-based math classes instead of dread them. Definitely recommend her!
