Spring 2016 - During lecture, he explains the general ideas and works through some examples. Sometimes, you may need to read some extra stuff he didn't cover in class to do the homework. He replies promptly to questions asked on the CCLE forum, which is nice. His tests were relatively straightforward. The problems were about the same difficulty as those encountered in the homework. Overall, I'd say he's a pretty good professor. His lectures are worth listening to, and he taught us what we needed to know.

Winter 2023 - Professor Vicaria is okay. She does not have the best lectures, but they are also not the worst. I do not know the overall grade distribution yet, but I believe that the questions on both midterms and the final were fair. In particular, you are allowed to bring a page of notes to all three exams and she informed us regarding one of the questions on the final beforehand so we can prepare for it. The homework problems were also good as she provided a large sample of problems and only a small portion was required. Math 61 is not a difficult class and your experience will be solid if you ever take it with her.

Williams is pretty good. He speaks in a monotone, so if it's an early morning class, you'll have to get some coffee. I will say that MATH61 is brutal over the summer session, though. There's a tremendous amount of information crammed into 6 weeks and little time with which to practice exercises in between lectures. Like I said, WIlliams is a good guy, but summer session is not the optimum time to take this class, IMO.
