Winter 2025 - Amazing class, phenomenal professor, complex but interesting content, challenging exams. Professor Boss is probably the most caring college instructor I've ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable, always willing to help, and really seems to enjoy teaching. It is definitely doable to get an A (I took the class P/NP but would've gotten an A as a letter grade), but you need to put in time and effort. There was only one small casing assignment while the rest of the grade was entirely dependent on exams (both MC and short answer). If you aren't familiar with law, the jargon at first can seem pretty confusing, but the professor does a great job explaining everything and helping you "get used" to legal terms over time. Everything you needed to know to do well in class was from lecture, and the learning assistants even took notes, which the Professor later edited. However, expect to know everything from lecture in granular detail for the exams. I suspect she knows they're challenging, as she offers a few extra credit points on each of them. Don't be scared to take this class! It's super fascinating and teaches you stuff that's super important for both law and business.

I have never met anyone who does not like Gonzalo Freixes and I probably never will. Simply put, he is a great teacher; one of the best I've ever had. His lectures and online notes are well organized. His exams are difficult, but fair. It is a shame we do not have more professors like him at UCLA. Take any class that he is teaching, regardless of your major.

Fall 2020 - (From the perspective of an engineering student taking this for a tech breadth) This class is incredibly boring, and though the material isn’t particularly difficult, the way it was taught made it very hard to force yourself to do. It was only pre-recorded lectures from April, with the grades being entirely the midterm and final. The subject itself is very dull and the lectures worsen this (thank god for 1.6x video speed). That said, it was a very light load of work, which was really nice when taking more work-heavy classes, so would recommend if that’s what you’re looking for in a tech breadth class.
