Professor Bourland is the best professor I've ever had. I'm currently taking 20B with him. His tests are very straightforward and fair, as long as you learn the rules. Last quarter his final was take home, and this quarter his midterm was also a take home midterm. Not only is Dr. Bourland an amazing professor, but he is also an amazing person; he always gives valuable life lessons. His classes are never boring and always interesting. I would recommend him 100% to anyone. Last quarter I received an A+. Pretty Easy A and an amazing man/professor. TAKE HIS CLASS AND YOU WON'T BE SORRY!

I had Professor Lefkowitz for five quarters of music theory (Music 20ABC, 120AB) and I am so glad that I did. He is an incredibly intelligent professor and is willing to spend plenty of time helping students understand. Yes, he does take a somewhat slightly different approach to music theory than what is commonly accepted, but if you approach it with an open mind you'll realize that it actually makes a lot of sense. One of my favorite things about his class was that he would incorporate music history into every lesson that he taught. He is incredibly dedicated to both the artistic and the academic when it comes to music. He was definitely one of my favorite professors at UCLA.
