Pediatric Primary Care for Family Nurse Practitioners
Description: Lecture, four hours. Requisite: course 200. Preparation of family nurse practitioners to assume responsibility for health promotion and illness prevention, and maintenance and management of common developmental, behavioral, acute, and chronic health problems of infants, children, and adolescents in primary healthcare settings. Presentation of condition or disease, etiology and incidence, clinical findings, differential diagnosis, pharmacologic and treatment management, complications, and preventive and patient education measures. Examination of primary child health delivery model reliant on evidence-based knowledge, practice protocols, consultation, referral, and community resources. Letter grading.
