Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Clinical Practicum III

Description: Clinic practicum, 26 hours. Requisites: courses 237A, 237B, 437A, 437B, 441. Offers clinical opportunity to apply advanced knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, current research, and diagnostic skills in caring for infants, children, and adolescents with complex acute, critical or chronic health conditions. Emphasis on student assuming primary responsibility for assessment, diagnosis, management, and evaluation of care provided to children and families in acute-care setting under supervision of faculty and preceptors. Students complete minimum of 220 direct clinical hours. Letter grading.
