Thinking on Your Feet: Introduction to Philosophy of Sport

Description: Seminar, one hour. Whether it be watching Friday night football games, passing by advertisements with professional golf players, or overhearing groups of people talking about recent soccer games, sports continuously surround our everyday lives. Exploration of questions that make up essence of sport: what it is and how it is different from games. Why do humans engage in this activity? Is there moral code within sports? Exploration of these questions, among many others, through philosophical lens to gain new outlook on what seems like such familiar activity. P/NP grading.
