Philosophy of Modern Information: Community and Isolation

Description: Seminar, one hour. Recommended preparation: one philosophy course. Modern readings of subjects concerning escapism, epistemology, and morality. Exploration into our relation with information and technology within both offline and online communities. Considerations of how our immense increase in access to information impacts our daily lives. Addresses questions concerning way information interacts with social media, e.g., how new forms of expertise have affected our understanding of social media. P/NP grading. Facilitated by Josh Khorsandi, with Andrew Hsu as faculty mentor.
