Description: Seminar, three hours. Enforced requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. Freshmen/sophomores preferred. Comparison of dictatorships around world to examine threats to power of dictators, strategies they employ to preserve their power, and how those strategies affect prospects for peace and economic development. Letter grading.

Winter 2024 - This class was changed to "Protest & Democracy" as of winter 2024 This class is also a seminar with <20 students Workload was pretty light, just one midterm (which was an outline for the final paper) and a Final research paper-- was more like an extended literature review (not a full research paper) Midterm avg: 88.29 Final avg: 91.31 Participation and HW are 20% and 5% iirc
