Language as Cognitive Science

Description: Lecture, three hours. Requisites: courses 100A, 100B, one programming course. Designed for junior/senior Cognitive Science majors. What mental mechanisms allow humans to transfer thoughts across minds through language? Through discussions and experiments, evaluation of behavioral, modeling, and neuroscientific data elucidating component processes of language system and its place within architecture of mind. P/NP or letter grading.
