Fall 2020 - It was very clear that the instructor cared about her students, as she encouraged us to try our best. I always felt confident and comfortable asking clarifying questions. All the assignments were very manageable and she graded them very fairly. I would definitely recommend this course.

in my four years here, Prof. Mann is probably one of the best professors i've taken at UCLA. health psych is also one of my favorite classes. She's very funny, cares about her students and keeps you engaged during lecture. Her tests are very fair and the material isn't too difficult. The reading is also pretty interesting. i highly recommend her!

Prof. Rivkin had a passion for the material that I thought might be passed on to me sometime during the course, but unfortunately, that never happened. Her lectures were transperency based, with the transperencies being oversized font skeletons of the material. The exams were surprisingly simple (esp. the final). I really advise anyone who's signed up for a class with Rivkin to reconsider. It's not that she's a terrible person. As a matter of fact, she seems like a very nice woman. But I've seen and had far more charismatic psychology professors. Rivkin seemed to be unsure of herself a lot of the time, relying almost solely on her personal written notes. It's a little hard to determine what kind of professor she'll turn out to be, since she received her doctorate only a couple of years ago, but I'm sure she'll improve with time...as for now, stay away if you can.

I would have to say that out of all of the classes I took at UCLA...I hated this and 100B the most. Lecture was so boring that I had to fight myself to stay awake. Professor Stanton is such a hard grader! I usually get all As but I got a C+ in her class!!! The grading on the paper was totally unfair and when I brought it to her attention (and the TA) they did not do anything about it. Do not take this class unless you really really need a Psych elective. Take it with Robles instead...I heard he is really awesome.
