Big Happy Picture: Exploring Perspectives of Happiness

Description: Seminar, one hour. Happiness can be viewed from various sociological perspectives on how people from certain social groups find happiness in their lives compared to different social groups. Giving kids from low resource tribes something to eat makes them happy, as opposed to privileged kids who throw tantrums for having to eat their vegetables. Happiness is seen over chronological perspective in which we see how people acquire state of happiness has changed over time, with emphasis on technology and goods. Who is more satisfied with their jeans -- someone in 1980s who bought their average blue jeans or someone today who bought theirs at Levis store? P/NP grading.
