Linda Garnets is an absolutely delightful professor. She has an amazing personality, warm hearted, funny, and very approachable. Her lesbian experience class is very popular and is usually filled to capacity. I was lucky I got in the first time. I've known students who've waited a year to take her class. She only teaches once a year, so sign up as soon as you can or you'll miss out. Grades are based on a midterm 40% and final 40%, both of which are composed of 2 take home term papers about 12 pages in length. Expect to do 4 papers in this class in addition to weekly reaction papers that are 1-2 pages long. Yes, there's a lot of writing involved, but it's doable if you're truly interested in the subject. Participation makes up the remaining 20% of your grade. I ended up with an "A" in the class and I'm a guy (gay of course!) Linda also brings in amazing guest speakers to class. The parents from PFLAG (particular the Asian parents) really touched me. It really addressed a lot of the concerns I had about coming out to my family. The last day of class was very memorable. Just be sure to not skip class this day. That's all I have to say ;)
