Julienne Bower is an AWESOME professor. I took her class, "Mind-Body Interactions and Health" (Psych 152) and found it to be life changing. The grading is very fair and it is not difficult to get an "A." Just make sure you know the meta-analyses results when taking the exams (that's what the majority of the class missed). Lots of extra credit on the final exam too!!

Took Psych 133A with him. He was a pretty average professor, and it was a pretty average class. Midterms were fair. The lectures weren't amazing, but he got his point across. He can either come off a as a really cool nice guy, or an arrogant jerk, depending on the day. He likes to here student's opinions, but he also likes to tell them they are wrong. I wouldn't rave about this class, but I also wouldn't tell someone to avoid taking it because it is very straightforward.

Spring 2023 - This class was disorganized and it felt like a waste of time sometimes. We met every other week for lectures which consisted of the same material over and over again after the third meeting. The class really just consisted of looking at the findings from Loeb's own research and was quite repetitive. Then, we split into groups and wrote an op-ed article about some facet of the class to submit to the Daily Bruin or some other publication. If you're specifically interested in research relating to internet access as a human right, this class might be for you, but there wasn't much stimulating discussion built into each class. Mostly, Loeb would lecture for about an hour, ask for questions, and then we'd break for group work time. It may have been more interesting if we approached the issue from multiple different angles, but overall it was pretty flat. At the end of the class we presented our research and writing in a 15-minute presentation.

PSYCH 10, NOT PSYCH 19. Just got my final grade for the class, and I have to say although I did slack off in the beginning, the final grade was fair. Just because this class is Psych 10, and INTRO to Psychology, DO NOT take it lightly. It's a lot of different ideas and people and concepts, you won't be able to retain much if you just cram the night before. Flash cards are the best way to study for this class! And don't just do the key terms, but do famous patients or experiments. She really likes the famous patients for each disorder. Her lectures are long, 2 hours with a 10 minute break in between, but half the time she ends early. The lectures aren't the most engaging stuff you'll encounter, but it'll help you retain the information. She does lecture straight out of the book though, so if you miss lecture, it's nice to know you don't have to sweat it and ask your classmates what you missed. Overall it's a relatively well paced class, and you should enjoy it because it's super applicable to life! Hope this helps. :)
