Fall 2025 - Class was online with recorded lectures (attendance: not mandatory). Grading: 1 Midterm (30%), 4 Total Discussion Posts (if you do 2 more discussion posts, you get extra credit) (15%), 1 short essay (15%), and 1 Final (40%). Recommend staying on top of the lectures because the midterms can be a little tricky sometimes. Midterm and final is open note but you won't have enough time to look through your notes since it's ~50q/1hr. Not too bad though, I got 94% on the midterm and final. You can also get half of the points you missed back through midterm corrections. Dr. Shafir is super passionate about teaching public health and is a great lecturer. Grading is not something I would worry about, but I wouldn't want to entirely slack off either, especially for the midterms.
