Description: Seminar, three hours; outside study, nine hours. Examination of social media's role in both fostering and undermining democratic discourse. Comparison of social media's role with that of traditional media and examination of social media's impact on traditional media. Exploration of possible responses in formal regulation and social media companies' content moderation regimes. Concurrently scheduled with Law 511. Letter grading.
