Advanced Theory of Social Work Practice with Individuals, Families, and Groups: Health

Description: Lecture, three hours; outside study, nine hours. Corequisite: required social work practicum. Advanced-level, critical analysis of various roles that social workers occupy in health settings and strategies for working with healthcare teams. From case-based approach, examination of variety of clinical challenges, assessment techniques for use in multiple settings, and interventions to implement with individuals, families, groups, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Evaluation of policy implications that impact social work practice in health settings. S/U or letter grading.
