Statistical and Computer Methods for Social Research
Description: Lecture, three hours; laboratory, one hour. Requisite: Statistics 10. Continuation of Statistics 10, covering more advanced statistical techniques such as multiple regression, analysis of variance, or factor analysis. Content varies. Students learn how to use computer and write papers analyzing prepared data sets. P/NP or letter grading.

Fall 2019 - I skipped more than half these lectures and still passed. Professor Mcdonald's lectures are like me reading the textbook by myself. Only reason I passed was because she (reluctantly) gave a study guide to us and the class created a Google Doc and did it all together. Even the TAs were unsure of how the test was being graded, but for that reason they were lenient on us. She is nice, I just would not take her again.

Fall 2020 - If you take Soc 113, do not take it with her...I was expecting to learn statistical concepts and she did none of that other than reading definitions from the already incomprehensible textbook from her slides. I sometimes even doubt if she understands what she's talking about. Also she lets you calculate every problem by hand rather than teaching more about using softwares to solve statistical problems, which means while she's not enhancing statistical understandings, she's not teaching much statistical tools either...A real disappointment for me...Trust me, you could learn more from a very basic introductory stats class than in this class..
