Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Introduction to methods used in contemporary sociological research, with focus on issues of research design, data collection, and analysis of data. Fieldwork may be required. Letter grading.

Not really sure how to start this review. Zeitlin was a great professor, he knows his stuff. (we even read some of his own material). He is not very approachable but no need because the material is not that hard. Of course, the reading is VERY DENSE. I NEVER really understood what i was reading, but discussion REALLY helped. O yes, DISCUSSION AND LECTURE are mandatory, so if you plan on missing , let your TAs know. Because if he calls on you in class and you dont answer, he will take 10 points off your final grade, that is a whole letter grade. this class is neccessary for the Soc major so it must be taken, I suggest taking i with Zeitlin. 1 Midterm 1 Final 2-3 "Study Problems" (aka HW) 2-3 In discussion Quizes 3-4 Readings per week Very straight forward. He explains what you need to know in class. STUDY MEMOS AND STUDY PROBLEMS WILL be on the test, so make sure to review and memorize them.. As for me, Midterm : 89% Final :Unsure yet. Quizzes: Pass Study Problems: Pass Take it with Zeitlin
