Prof. Heritage's class is very boring unless you love to do transcriptions. His lectures are long and it is hard to stay awake. He tries to make the class interesting but I think this topic cannot be made interesting. However, if you are looking for any easy class this is it. There are a couple of small assignments and an EASY take home midterm. The final is in class and pretty easy once you get passed all of his errors on the exam.

DISREGARD SOC 24, I took SOC 20 with Prof. Stivers and she is a great teacher and her material is interesting. If you go to every class and take good notes you dont need the book. What makes the class hard is having a bad group (THERE IS ALOT OF GROUP WORK) and/or a bad TA. Other than that the material is pretty simple. The class requires alot of time but nothing to confusing, just alot of observing and working on the group project.
