Fall 2021 - This class is easy to do well in if you are comfortable with Spanish. I am still learning and I felt as if everyone else knew what they were doing in an elementary class. During the first class, Cheché said that he would be very lenient because it was the first quarter back in person after COVID. However, on the cultural presentation, he graded pretty harshly. A significant number of people in the small class received a B or C. I believe the written exams are standardized across sections so not really his fault, but the score distribution on those was also very low for what is technically a GE. Participation is important, not just showing up but also speaking with your table and answering questions in front of the whole class.

Fall 2017 - (REVIEW FOR SPANISH 3, NOT 2) Professor Suhr is very average. She definitely wants to see students do well, and is a nice enough lady, but doesn't go above and beyond from a teaching standpoint. She also definitely wants everyone to put the effort in towards getting an A (even though obviously a lot of people take it P/NP), and she will sometimes deliberately grade you down a little bit if you're not putting in what she deems is enough effort. When push comes to shove though, she'll get you through the course in one piece and (unless you REALLY don't try, and make a point of it) she won't fail you.
