Spring 2019 - This class was really pretty easy. It wasn't too time-consuming. No textbook required, she had all the readings online and there were never a lot, maybe a couple pages for class and not even for every class period. There are bi-weekly reactions to readings and 3 in-class quizzes. 3 papers including the final paper. The first 2 are only 2 pages long while the final paper is 4-5 pages long. One oral presentation to the class with a partner. That's about it for the class. Professor herself is really nice. She's just cool, really chill. She's been one of my favorite professors so far (top 5 in my 2 years here) and my favorite from all my Spanish teachers so far. She's really nice and approachable, would recommend her to everyone, and would take this class again in a heartbeat. There's really no reason not to take this class. r/ucla

i really liked her, but her enthusiasm for the subject can be scary. she is a great teacher, who really cares about her students. she does have an accent, but it is easy to understand her, she is open to making appointments outside of office hours. the most important part of your grade will be the 3 essays she assigns (30%), so make sure to do well on those. the midterm is really easy, just do all the hw and memorize the key terms that she assigns. overall, if you just pay attention, you should do fine. one complaint that i do have about her is that the way she grades is not even. if she feels/senses that your spanish is really good, she will place more importance on the content than the grammar. still, i highly recommend her.
