Measurement and Its Applications
Description: (Same as Psychology M144.) Lecture, three hours. Requisite: one course from 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, or Psychology 100A. Selected theories for quantification of psychological, educational, social, and behavioral science data. Classical test, factor analysis, generalizability, item response, optimal scaling, ordinal measurement, computer-adaptive, and related theories. Construction of tests and measures and their reliability, validity, and bias. P/NP or letter grading.

Winter 2016 - Peter Bentler is an extremely nice person. However, if you are a Psychology Major - even if you are interested in the subject- do NOT take this course! He will rant the whole class about mathematics concepts that are completely foreign to anyone who has not taken linear algebra. I'm a PSYCH MAJOR! THIS IS CROSS-LISTED! IT SHOULDN'T BE! Trust me, here's the worst part - during tests he expects you to be able to use linear algebra. If you're a statistics major, you will think it is easy.
