I took Prof. Steinberg as an undergraduate for his colloquium series- it was quite difficult to enroll but I highly recommend it. Speakers come every week (from Harvard, abroad, and some pretty high-caliber places... the last one we had the foreign minister of Afghanistan!).

You read their papers before their presentation and do "critiques" on it, since many of the works are rough drafts. Most of it is tough for the law students (of whom there are about 40 in the seminar) to understand, which means that it's REALLY hard for undergrads, but they are manageable, and *usually* no more than 20-30 pages a week (I think one of them was about 80).

But, this isn't a course review. Prof. Steinberg is awesome- he's down to earth and has a great sense of humor. The only time he actually lectured individually was the first one, where we went over his paper for the AJIL.

If you go to his office hours, he turns off his phone to talk to you. He will relate to you personally and give you advice, and tell you to drop by other times if you need anything. This is all in spite being INCREDIBLY busy.

My favorite professor at UCLA so far! If he puts on additional seminars, I would recommend taking them.
