Description: (Same as Public Affairs M160.) Lecture, three hours. In 21st century, majority of Earth's population now lives in urban areas and virtually no part of globe remains untouched by human influence. Cities constitute crucibles of most pressing social and environmental challenges but are also potential centers of innovation for addressing those challenges. Examination of theory and practice from geography and related fields to understand many articulations of urban sustainability and how it might be achieved. Letter grading.
