This class was very informative and very straightforward. Selling both required readings for the class for $20, they are both still brand new.

Overall this is a great, grade-boosting GE. The class is quite repetitive so the lectures get boring after awhile, however the class is fairly graded and weighted. The professors are super informative and super nice and my TA Sarah Beth was the absolute sweetest. TAKE THIS CLASS FOR YOUR GE.

Took online. Minimal readings and long lectures that you can get away with not attending because your grade is based on work you do in discussion section. The lecture presentations are interesting though. Your grade is 33% Field Hours and Reflection, 33% a Research Paper (10 pgs, TA holds your hand through it), 33% participation in discussion. Super easy class and a good introduction to Labor Studies.

I loved this class! An extremely fun and easy GE. Professor Wong and Valenzuela are awesome and have done so much for the social justice movement, so it's such a privilege to learn from them as well as the other speakers they bring in for the lectures. The lectures are so relevant and I felt like I learned a lot from this class.
Your grade is based on two papers (which are easy to do), a participation grade in your discussion, and a multiple-choice final. As long as you have an interest in the topic and pay attention in lectures, you'll ace the class.
