Homework was fairly light and his lectures were pretty clear, but one thing I disliked was how hard his exams were -- a group of people cheated on the first midterm, so the second was exponentially harder than the first and tested us on material we never went over explicitly in lecture. It took me ages to figure out how to solve those questions because the wording of the question was also quite confusing, too! I emailed him about it and told him I was worried about the final because of how much I struggled on the midterm (I did actually score a little above average on that second midterm) and his response was...not great.
If you're taking his class in person I would probably recommend him because he is very patient in lecture and always happy to answer questions, plus you don't have to worry about having exams being extremely difficult to counteract cheating!
He was a reasonable professor. Would recommend. Participation was required on campuswire, but it was fairly easy to fufill.
If it is not for Dr. Moreno there is no way I got this letter grade (I am consistently below in both median and average grade). He is very nice and forgiving, and gives very light homework when he knows we will be busy to prepare for tests. His lectures are very clear, even though graph theory is very confusing. It is very easy to make mistakes on tests because there can be so many gaps in knowledge (for instance, getting the right answer but we fail to check all cases or make wrong assumptions). He is definitely one of the best instructors I know so far, and I am very grateful to study this difficult class with his help. If you have a chance, please take him!
