Professor Moreno is, hands down, the best Math professor I have had in UCLA. Not only does his teaching style makes all the concepts extremely clear and easier to understand, but he is also a super nice and funny guy. His exams are all very fair and very, VERY similar to the practice problems that he gives before the exams, so if you want to do well, study the practice problems!!! His grading is similar to all the other math professors' - approx. 10% homework (lowest grade dropped), you can pick to drop one midterm if you do especially bad in one, etc.

I would absolutely, definitely, and 100% take his class for any other math classes that I would have to complete - personally, I've always had some trouble with Math, but Professor Moreno makes everything seems much easier to understand. Definitely recommend him as a Math professor!!!

This class was really great, and Moreno was an awesome teacher. I took this first quarter of my freshman year and was definitely a little nervous, but this class really was not as bad as I had expected. He is a really great teacher and was always there to answer questions if I needed him to. The grading was fair, and I learned a lot. If you have to take this class, I for sure recommend taking it with Moreno.

Even though I dropped the class for unrelated reasons, Dr. Moreno is the greatest professor I have ever had. In spite of clearly being a genius beyond our comprehension, his ability to simply complex concepts is unmatched. Further, he truly cares for his students and is extremely lenient towards them. He is arguably the greatest professor this school has produced, if you get the chance, take him

Overall Professor Moreno was very fair and a good lecturer and if you know the material, you'll do well. The midterms and especially the final was difficult compared to the hw but with the 24-hour time limit, it was definitely doable. He also gave 5% for participation which was very easy to do on campuswire and let us drop one he as part of the hw grade. He also gave us 1% extra credit for doing his evaluation so that also helped boost people's grades. Overall would recommend Moreno for a relatively straightforward Math 31B experience.

I took this class online due to COVID. Overall, Prof. Moreno was super nice and cool. He was a clear and engaging lecturer and explained concepts thoroughly. Participation and homework were light. The weighting was 25% for each midterm, 30% for the final, 15% for homework (the lowest homework score was dropped), and 5% for participation, which was measured using Campuswire. It was easy to meet the threshold for points on Campuswire; you just ask and answer questions that other students post.

The TA section I attended with Ben Jarman was super helpful. He went over any difficult homework problems and explained confusing concepts clearly. Would recommend going to him if you have the chance.

The most difficult part of this course was the midterms and final. Given that it was online, the professor made the questions very conceptual and with little calculation problems. It was helpful to have 24 hours to figure out the problems. but the problems themselves were very tricky and required a thorough understanding of the concepts of the class, not just knowing how to solve the math problems.

Overall, the course was not too difficult, and I would recommend taking this course with Dr. Moreno if you are willing to put in the work to REALLY understand the concepts. Just be warned that the tests were hard, at least while school is online.

Taking this class online was extremely challenging for me. I do not know if it was the content in general or the actual teaching style, but I found it extremely difficult to keep up and understand. The class is made up of weekly homework assignments, two midterms, and a final. I found all of the tests hard to study for as they were in a sense cumulative and we were not given a study guide. I am typically good at math, but I think the online environment was not one that I thrived in. If you do take this class, both the TAs and teacher is accommodating, just make sure you stay on task and do not get behind on lecture. I got WAY too behind and it was too difficult to catch up.

Good professor. Clear and concise. Not lenient with grading at all or final grades even if you technically got an B, he will give you a B-, etc. Midterms and final exams super difficult, conceptually based.

Great Professor and great lecturer. His class was enjoyable and fairly easy. His office hours are very useful and he's very easy to talk to. However, his tests were hard in my opinion but they were definitely doable if you paid attention in class, went to discussion, and went to the occasional office hours.

I came into this class having taking AP Calc AB and IB Math SL. To me this class was a breeze, but I've always been fairly good at math.
Moreno gave great lectures and would pause to answer questions in chat when they came up. It was clear he wanted you to understand the material.
The required homework problems were straightforward and easy enough to check your answers on. I got an A on every homework because of this.
Tests were a little bit more difficult, but with 24 hours to take them you're likely to get a good grade.
