Dr. Adi Jaffe is a great lecturer, but can often go off topic when it comes to teaching the material. His tests are hard, but with constant studying from the book it is possible to get an A. Book (he's using the same one for winter) is REQUIRED (going to class isn't). All tests and quizzes come from the book publisher. Good luck :)

Prof Jaffe is such as cool down to earth guy, and he knows how to make the lectures engaging and funny. I would not say that he is a bad teacher at all, like a lot of other people here said. This is a just hard class to teach, and no one takes this class voluntarily, they just take it to get into the major. I think that that is why no one likes this class. Overall, Jaffe made the lectures fun to go to. It was very manageable. There is no homework, just one or two online quizzes due each friday. There's two midterms and a final. 50 multiple choice questions. They are not cumulative. The thing that helped the most was reading the book that corresponds with the lectures. He covers everything pretty quickly in lecture because there is a lot of material, so you will not do very well unless you read the book to further understand the lectures. There's also an online supplement that you can purchase that will give you extra practice problems and mini lectures, but it is not necessary as long as you use the book's practice problems.

I am selling the book if any one is interested. It cost $130 but I'll sell for $60. Contact me at ************* if interested

Selling textbook Comprehending Behavioral Statistics with personal trainer together for $80. Contact me at ************* if interested.

Professor Jaffe seems like a very nice person, he made his lectures fun, but not the best professor. I felt like listening during lecture was more cofusing than not. Do not stress trying to take notes during the class, it won`t be very helpful. Textbook and personal trainer are the only things you need to do well. Do not waste your time on studying presentation slides.

Selling textbook: Comprehending Behavioral Statistics ($80) and Personal Trainer ($82.50) for $120. Text me at ********** if interested.

The class is pretty easy as long as you're comfortable with all the formulas presented in class. Professor Jaffe does an okay job of going over them in class, but the textbook is especially useful. Lecture slides are available online, and his lectures are the same as textbook chapters so if you're willing to read the textbook, going to lecture is kinda optional. Section is also optional; it's just review of the week's material, but those slides aren't posted.

Jaffe also doesn't write his own tests and a fair amount come from an optional online website called "Personal Trainer" that's available with a new textbook but is also available separately. The website has a lot of good review and practice questions so I would strongly recommend it.

He is a very charming person but not a great teacher. He didn't really teach us anything the whole class he just keeps asking questions to the student which really doesn't work in such a large lecuture. I think it's impossible to sustain my attension during his lectures but hey you gotta do what you gotta do if you wanna take psych!
