Professor Weisberg was awesome! I had a really tough time getting used to Italian grammar and just the language overall, but she was super clear and helpful in teaching you how to to be fluent in it! She was also extremely nice and patient. The workload is light and the homework assignments and compositions you have to write translate really well to what you're going to see on exams. I would highly recommend her for Italian 1 and any other class she might be teaching, é una buona professoressa!

Quarter: Summer 2022

I have been struggling with Italian this quarter but I am grateful for Professora Weisburg. She is incredibly relaxed, understanding, and is able to make teaching online look easy. Everything you need to succeed is provided. She simply wants the best for her students and it shows. There are two classes a week with a quiz for every chapter, and a final exam. Everything is clear and straight-forward. The toughest part of the class is the language itself. If you want to learn Italian, I recommend taking Alessia Weisburg.

If you're interested in learning a new language or have to fulfill a major requirement, I recommend taking Italian 1 with Professor Weisberg. I took the online version of the course, but despite being labeled as "asynchronous," she offers an optional weekly zoom session to go over the lectures with her and gain participation points. I found the zoom sessions very engaging and helpful when it came to pronunciation and grammar structure. The homework is done through an online textbook called "MindTap." If you complete the assignments and participate, the course is easy; however, the exams can be difficult if you don't study or fall behind on material. The class consists of chapter exams, 3 essays, and a final. All the exams are proctored through Respondus Lockdown, so you cannot use notes for the exam. The only reason I received a "B" was that I studied more on another final, and less on this one; unfortunately, dropping my grade by a full letter. Overall, Professor Weisberg is very nice and extremely helpful in teaching the material to new beginners. I highly recommend this course to anyone!
