This was a great class with a light workload! Your grade is comprised of a weekly (one page single-spaced) opinion paper about the topic for that week, a midterm paper as well as a final paper (which are both three pages single-spaced opinion papers) and your participation in class. Professor Franklin is really good about facilitating thought-provoking discussion about the topic for that week, which makes it super easy to participate. The topics you cover include Hollywood's issues with racial diversity, gender diversity, LGBTQ representation, depictions of mental illness, representation of disabilities, etc. Professor Franklin really cared about student learning and it was great having him!!
