Spring 2026 - I have absolutely no negative things to say about Professor Sherstov and this class. None. Zero. He's a fantastic, passionate lecturer who takes the time to patiently explain every topic. He keeps the class engaged by asking questions and guiding students in the right direction as we approach a new problem, and creates a really fun personable classroom vibe where he encourages every student, even the struggling ones, to practice computer science and get better at the subject. 10/10 class, very reasonable homework (one problem set a week), exams were a perfect mix of fair and challenging (they test your ability to prove/derive results using the tools and ways of thinking covered in class so it never felt like rote memorization), haven't had a better lecturer for any class at UCLA. Every computer science student here should have the privilege of taking Sherstov's class.
